Print this article The prospect of a "Dumb and Dumber" sequel starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels caused a lot of excitement among movie fans, but the anticipation was short lived. Just three months after saying he'd be returning, Carrey has left the project, according to ETOnline.com
Despite saying he was looking forward to the project, Carrey reportedly had become frustrated with the lack of enthusiasm from the studio. Sources say he assumed, given that the two original stars were returning, the higher-ups would be more excited. In a statement to the website, he confirmed his feelings.
"I would have thought 'Dumb and Dumber To' was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title," he said.
There's no word yet on what the future holds for the movie. Daniels has yet to officially drop out, but it is certainly a significant obstacle in the production of the sequel.
While Carrey won't be appearing in the proposed comedy movie, his fans can check him out in a number of other excellent films including "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind" and "Liar Liar."
