'21 Jump Street' reboot a success

Rebooting "21 Jump Street" was a film is a tall order. Johnny Depp made the series a hit in the '80s, and it may seem hard to improve on the the crime drama. However, thanks to sterling performances from Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, filmmakers did just that, and turned it into a comedy at the same time. The new release DVD hits shelves June 26. Morton Schmidt (Hill) and Greg Jenko (Tatum) are two recent police academy graduates who are unlikely allies. But after fumbling the arrest of a drug dealer, they are reassigned to a undercover division tasking them with infiltrating the synthetic drug trade in their old high school. The duo assume false identities, and while they make progress, their time is anything but easy. As they make their way deeper into the drug trade, they run the risk of exposing their true identities. Tatum and Hill have been two of the most successful young actors in Hollywood over the last couple years.
