Al Pacino headed to broadway for 'Glengarry Glen Ross' revival

Print this article The 1992 drama "Glengarry Glen Ross" features one of the best casts in movie history, and one of its stars is headed to the stage to take on a new role. Al Pacino is reportedly set to play the part of Shelly Levene in the upcoming Broadway show, The New York Times reports.
Pacino was one of the highlights of the '92 movie, a big screen adaptation of the play. His performance even earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In the movie, Pacino played Ricky Roma while Jack Lemmon portrayed Levene. The movie also featured stellar performances from Alec Baldwin, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris and Alan Arkin.
Though the movie was popular, the play is even more so. Written by David Mamet, the show debuted in 1984 and went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play has been revived several times including in 2005 with Liev Schreiber.
Anybody who can't see Pacino on stage should check out some of his best work on screen including "Scent of a Woman," for which he won an Oscar, and "Dog Day Afternoon."
