Print this article Just days after news broke that Samuel L. Jackson may be in the upcoming "RoboCop" reboot, another big name has been added to the list. "House" star Hugh Laurie is reportedly in talks to play the science fiction movie's villain, according to Variety.
There is no confirmation yet from MGM Studio of the casting, but rumors have Laurie playing the CEO of the Omnicorp, the company that creates RoboCop as a way to reduce crime in a dystopian Detroit. Along with Jackson, Laurie will also be joined in the project by Gary Oldman.
The decision may be a good one for both parties. Laurie's schedule likely opened up considerably recently since "House," came to a close after eight seasons this May. The villainous turn would likely be one of the Laurie's biggest film roles to date as his previous parts include roles in "Stuart Little" and "101 Dalmatians."
"RoboCop" is not the only movie from the era getting remade in the near future. The 1990 classic "Total Recall" is getting an update and there have been talks of a reboot of the Harrison Ford vehicle "Blade Runner."
