Samuel L. Jackson signs on for 'RoboCop' remake

Print this article Ever since it was announced the '80s classic "RoboCop" was getting remade, many have been skeptical. However, the announcement of the latest casting news may change some minds. Samuel L. Jackson has signed on for a role in the science fiction movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jackson is reportedly playing the part of Pat Novak, someone who holds a powerful role in the "RoboCop" universe. Jackson is not the only big name involved with the project. Oscar-nominee Gary Oldman is also attached to the project as the man behind the creation of the cyborg police officer. Joel Kinnaman is slated to play the titular hero.
The announcement is just the latest big news for Jackson. He was a hit with audiences in the star-studded superhero movie "The Avengers" and is currently working with longtime collaborator Quentin Tarantino in "Django Unchained."
Jackson has been one of the most prolific actors over the last 20 years. To get ready for his part in "RoboCop" fans may want to check him out in everything from his Oscar-nominated turn in "Pulp Fiction" to the comedy action movie "Snakes on a Plane."
