Print this article Jamie Foxx is already generating buzz for his role in Quentin Tarantino's latest "Django Unchained," which doesn't hit theaters until December 25. The Oscar winner is now turning some heads, as it is rumored that he is in talks to play the president in the upcoming action thriller "White House Down," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is set to be helmed by "Independence Day" director Roland Emmerich and feature a number of other big name stars. In particular, Channing Tatum is on board to play a Secret Service agent, while Maggie Gyllenhaal is expected to join the production in a similar role.
Not many details about the plot have been made public, but the publication reports that the action movie will follow the response after the White House is taken over by a paramilitary group. A similar plot was the basis for a recent season of the hit Fox show "24."
Emmerich is no stranger to directing action movies. Along with "Independence Day," he has also directed "The Patriot" "The Day After Tomorrow" and the 1998 update of "Godzilla."
