(We do not collect these names or emails!)After the success of the "The Avengers" earlier this spring, anticipation for the upcoming sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger" reached new levels. The buzz got even louder this week when prolific directors Anthony and Joe Russo were tapped to helm the eagerly-awaited project, according to Variety.
Marvel Studios had no comment on the hiring, but it is an interesting selection. The Russo brothers are perhaps best known as the executive producers and directors behind two of TVs popular comedies "Community" and "Happy Endings." They also directed a number of episodes of "Arrested Development." Despite their eye for comedy, the duo may be a good fit for the fun movie franchise.
Outside of the directors, there are little details available about the forthcoming sequel. The studio will be bringing back Chris Evans as Captain America, but not much is known about the plot. Evans has said the movie probably will not hit theaters until sometime in 2014, after other sequels including "Iron Man 3" have been completed. .
While it's a long wait for "Captain America 2," fans of the franchise can check out similar superhero movies from Marvel until then. Specifically big hits like "Thor" and "Iron Man 2" should do the trick.
