Last week there were rumours swirling that "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson would be appearing in "Catching Fire," the sequel to "The Hunger Games." The news was equally stirring among both legions of fans, but Pattinson soon put the rumors to rest, USA Today reports.

Pattinson, who was in France for the Cannes Film Festival and the premier of his film "Cosmopolis," saw the news about him potentially appearing in the anticipated film. He had not been approached to star in the movie, but decided he should check with his agent just in case.

"I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent," he told the publication. "My agent was like, 'No.' [My agent] was like no one's going to offer you that part. I was like, thanks for the reassurance."

Pattinson was rumored to be playing the role of Finnick Odair, but according to Entertainment Weekly, many fans want Ryan Kwanten of "True Blood" to play the part.

While Pattinson may not be appearing in "The Hunger Games," fans can check him out on in other excellent movies including "Water for Elephants."
