(We do not collect these names or emails!)The trailer for the upcoming movie of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel "The Great Gatsby" was released on May 23, and it already has created quite the buzz. Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the new adaptation of the book features Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, Tobey McGuire as Nick Carraway and Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby himself.
The time period and setting of the novel, lavish Long Island at the height of the roaring 20s, is almost a character in itself, and it looks like the movie will deliver on that account. The costumes look outstanding, and though some fans may complain that the music in the trailer doesn’t match up with the movie's vibe, it’s hard to see how such a strong cast could go wrong.
The 1974 version of "Great Gatsby" featured Robert Redford as the main character alongside Mia Farrow as Daisy. Fans of that film will likely be eager to see how the reboot matches up.
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until the holiday season to see the movie on the big screen. Until then, fans can check out Luhrmann’s other acclaimed films. Those who love extravagant costumes can check out the director’s hit movies "Moulin Rouge" and "Romeo and Juliet."
