Print this article Daniel Radcliffe shot to fame as the star of the "Harry Potter" series but it left him with an unenviable task - separating himself from his iconic character. He took a large step toward doing just that with 2012's "The Woman in Black." The horror movie comes to DVD May 22.
Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe) is a young solicitor who is facing a number of struggles. His wife died after childbirth and he is in financial turmoil. Eventually, he becomes put in charge of the estate of a woman who owned an enormous mansion and, along with his young son, heads out to house.
It's not long before he starts noticing some strange occurrences. He catches a glimpse of a woman in black, who has become somewhat of an urban legend in the surrounding town. The rumor goes that she wills young children to commit suicide as revenge for her own kids that were taken from her. Will he be able to save his own son from the woman in black?
The supernatural horror film follows in the tradition of many similar movies over the last few years. Modern classics like "The Ring" and "What Lies Beneath" both provide their fair share of thrills.
