Print this article Since it hit theaters, there have been talks of a sequel to the hit 2005 film "Sin City." Progress has been slow and it seemed like the project had stalled. However, the wait may soon be over, as director Robert Rodriguez recently said a follow-up film will hit theaters in October 2013.
The film, "Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill," is still in its early stages of production, but it will feature some familiar faces from the original. Both Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke will be returning, with more possibly on the way, as casting is still being ironed out. "Sin City" included performances from Bruce Willis, Clive Owen and Michael Madsen.
In addition to recurring characters, the movie is expected to feature a number of new roles, but any further details of the plot, script and casting has been kept tightly under wraps. If it's anything like the first film, "A Dame to Kill" will likely be a big hit. "Sin City" brought in $160 million worldwide.
To get ready for the much-anticipated sequel, fans of the original may want to watch similar movies including "The Spirit" and "300."
