Print this article A film adaptation of the popular mystery novels by Lawrence Block has long been in the works, and now the project finally has a leading man. Liam Neeson has reportedly signed on to star in the upcoming "A Walk Among Tombstones" as the famous literary detective Matthew Scudder, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie has gone through a lot of changes over the years. It was originally going to be produced by Universal with Harrison Ford in the lead role, but those plans fell through. Now, with Neeson starring and Scott Frank set to direct, producers Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher feel like they have the right parts in place.
"We feel like we won the trifecta by getting the one star who is perfect for Scott's great script that he was born to direct," Sher and Shamberg said, the publication reports.
Filming is set to begin sometime in 2013, and marks another big hit for Neeson. The "Taken" actor has scored a number of popular roles in the last few years including his most recent movie, the board game-based "Battleship."
To see some of Neeson's best work, movie buffs can check him out in "The Grey" and "Unknown."
