Print this article The 1976 horror movie "Carrie" is one of the most iconic films of all time, so any attempt at remaking it would need an excellent cast. Luckily, the upcoming reboot features exactly that. Oscar nominee Julianne Moore has been tapped to play the role of Margaret White, Deadline reports.
Moore seems like a perfect fit for the part. As Carrie's mother, Margaret played an integral part in the original movie, where she was portrayed by Piper Laurie, who earned an Oscar nomination for the fearsome performance.
In addition to Moore, the remake features a slew of young talent. Chloe Moretz, who has earned considerable critical praise for her work in movies such as "Kick-Ass," "Let Me In," and "Hugo" is slated to play the titular role. Gabriella Wilde, the young actress best known for her role in "Doctor Who," is also on board.
To get ready for the latest incarnation of "Carrie," horror movie fans may want to check out similar films including classics like "Poltergeist" and "The Thing."
