Print this article The Tim Burton-directed "Dark Shadows" hit theaters Friday, and though it marks the latest movie from the prolific filmmaker, it also is a reunion between him and one of his favorite stars - Johnny Depp. The duo have collaborated for a number of hit movies, here's a look back at some of the best.
This 1990 classic still holds up as one of the most innovative movies in film history. Deftly blending romance, comedy and fantasy, "Edward Scissorhands" was one of the movies that helped make Depp a household name and cemented Burton's place as one of the most sought after directors in Hollywood.
"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street"
Based off the popular musical of the same name, this 2007 hit marked a return to form for Burton and Depp as a duo. Depp stars as murderous barber Sweeney Todd, a role that earned him his third Academy Award nomination.
"Alice in Wonderland"
Based on two iconic 19th century novels, the 2010 film was a bit different than the 1951 animated classic, but still held up nonetheless. Depp gave one of his most memorable roles as the Mad Hatter.
