Print this article Robert Pattinson may be best known for his role as undead heartthrob Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" films, but one of his next roles will have the actor taking a much more dramatic turn. Pattinson is expected to star in "Mission: Black List," an upcoming film about the man who led the capture of Saddam Hussein, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The psychological thriller is based off a book by Eric Maddox, who was one of the lead investigators in helping find where Hussein was hiding. The script was penned by Erik Jendresen, who was behind the hit HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers," the news source reports.
The role could go a long way in helping Pattinson shed the "Twilight" role he has played for five films, the last of which comes out in November. He has already carried some other, more substantial films including "Water for Elephants," which he starred in alongside Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon.
There's no word yet on when "Mission: Black List" starts filming, but until it hits theaters, fans of Pattinson can see his work in the 2009 film "Little Ashes," where he played Salvador Dali.
