Print this article The hit NBC series "Parks and Recreation" is in the midst of its popular fourth season, and with only two episodes remaining, all attention has turned toward whether Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope will win her bid for election. There's no telling where the show will take it from there, but Poehler recently talked about the future of the series with The Huffington Post.
Poehler (who wrote and directed the last episode) says the series' next season may return to its roots of focusing mostly on the goings on in the Parks Department. This season has strayed from that storyline somewhat, focusing mainly on the election.
"But I think - and again, we haven’t written next season yet - but Mike [Schur] and I were talking about trying to kind of settle back in to, or just to enjoy, the Parks Department more [next] season, because we were out on the road," she told HuffPost.
The season finale is set for May 10, and after that fans can re-watch some of their favorite episodes through TV on DVD or start a new series like "30 Rock" or "Community."
