Print this article Though they may not hold the same reputation as the Academy Awards, the MTV Movie Awards have proven to be a good measure of what's popular with audiences. That was true once again, as hit movies "The Hunger Games" and "Bridesmaids" scored the most nominations for the June 3 show.
Each of the titles took home eight nominations, while "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" took home two. The other two movies up for Movie of the Year are "The Help" and "Breaking Dawn: Part I."
Interestingly, "Bridesmaids" was also recognized in February at the Oscars for the performance of Melissa McCarthy, who earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination. She also earned a nomination for Best Comedic Performance at the MTV Movie Awards along with co-star Kristen Wiig.
Ryan Gosling also fared pretty well. He earned a nomination for Best Male Performance for "Drive" and also is up for Best Kiss along with "Crazy, Stupid, Love" co-star Emma Stone, who is nominated for Best Female Performance in the same movie.
