"Murphy Brown," one of the most popular sitcoms of the '90s, may be heading back to television sometime soon. The show's creator says she has been in talks with its star Candice Bergen to perhaps bring the show back in time for the 2012 presidential election, according to TV Guide.

It's not the first time that the creator Diane English has tried to revive the series. In 2008, she attempted to bring it back to comment on the election, and now that there's another cycle set to start up, the prospect is tempting.

"We're having a little conversation with CBS about a few episodes, and I think it's possible. Candice knows about it, and we're going to talk to her more in July once she wraps her Broadway play ['The Best Man,']" English told the news source.

The show would certainly be a good method of commenting on the political climate, as Bergen's Brown was a hard nosed investigative reporter and news anchor. Though it might not make it back on the small screen, fans can relive the show through TV on DVD or check out similar series such as "Just Shoot Me" and "Cheers."
