Denizens of the internet are probably familiar with "Between Two Ferns," Zach Galifianakis' awkwardly hilarious online television show, and now the popular web series may be headed to the small screen. Scott Aukerman revealed on his recent podcast that he had directed an extended 30-minute version of the show, according to Paste magazine.

The episode is expected to debut on May 6, as a precursor to the Comedy Awards on Comedy Central. It's unsure of whether or not the show will expand into a regularly-running feature, but given the popularity of the web series, it's likely to be a hit.

The online version of the show features Galifianakis interviewing big name stars ranging from Will Ferrell to Steve Carell to Natalie Portman. Though they start innocently enough, the interviews often devolve into an awkward standoff between guest and host.

Although the show many not eventually get developed into a series, fans of Galifianakis have plenty of opportunities to check him out in a number of comedy movies including "Due Date," "Dinner for Schmucks" and "The Hangover."
