'Dumb and Dumber 2' confirmed

Rumors flew late last year about a possible sequel to "Dumb and Dumber" featuring the film's original two stars, and it looks like it's going to be a reality. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have reportedly signed on to the upcoming "Dumb and Dumber 2," Total Film reports. The confirmation came from Peter Farrelly, one half of the directing duo responsible for the classic comedy. Although there had been murmurs that this was a possibility, nothing had been stated publicly until now. "We're getting set to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' in September," Farrelly told the website. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back." Some might be quick to call the 2003 comedy "Dumb and Dumberer" a sequel, but most would disagree. The movie was not directed by the Farrelly brothers, nor did it star Carrey or Daniels in their respective roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunner. To get ready for the impending sequel, fans of the original may want to check out other Farrelly brothers movies including "There's Something About Mary" and "Stuck on You."
