Print this article "Twins," the 1988 comedy movie that starred the unlikely duo of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, may have fallen largely from public consciousness. However, 24 years after its initial release, a planned sequel is in the works, according to The Hollywood reporter.
The proposed second film, "Triplets," would bring back its original stars as well as add a third brother - one portrayed by Eddie Murphy. The film is being developed on Universal and Montecito Picture Company, and although the project is still in its earliest stages, all the actors are on board with the movie, the publication reports.
The 1988 original starred Schwarzenegger and DeVito as twin brothers Julius and Vincent Benedict who were the result of a genetic experiment. Although the actors are coming back, director Ivan Reitman will not be.
Though there's no word yet on when "Triplets" is expected to hit theaters, fans of the original can check out the stars in other great comedies, including the holiday classic "Jingle All the Way" and the popular TV series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
