(We do not collect these names or emails!)One of the Discovery Channel's most popular series came to an abrupt end this week. The network ended its deal with outdoorsman Bear Grylls and in doing so ended production on the reality show "Man vs. Wild," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There's no word on exactly why the two parted ways, but it looks like there was a significant dispute over the contract. Sources say that Grylls was originally contracted to participate in two projects but was refusing to do so. As a result, they decided to end a partnership that began in 2006.
"Bear's goal has always been to make life-empowering shows for his many fans around the globe, and he has taken great risks to bring Discovery such award-winning programming over seven seasons," Grylls' representative Heather Krug told the publication. "Unfortunately, Bear and Discovery have not been able to come to mutual agreement on new programming, and he disagrees with Discovery's decision to terminate current productions."
Although the show's run might be over, fans of the series can check it out through TV on DVD or watch the similar series "Survivorman."
