(We do not collect these names or emails!)It has been one of the most popular comedies on television for eight seasons, but the future of "The Office" is very much in doubt. Despite the concerns of integral parts of the cast departing, star Ed Helms is not worried and sees it as a great opportunity, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Steve Carell left after season seven, and longtime writer and supporting actor Mindy Kaling may be doing the same at the end of the eighth. Additionally, with NBC likely planning a spin-off show featuring Rainn Wilson's Dwight, much of the lineup might look very different. The upheaval does not have to be a bad thing, Helms says.
"Well I think obviously Steve [Carell] left last year and it just opened up all kinds of possibilities and opportunities not just for myself but the whole cast," he told the publication. "I think any time the boat is rocked, it's a good thing and an exciting thing and an opportunity."
Whether the show is picked up for a ninth season remains to be seen, but until that time fans can check out old episodes through TV on DVD as well experience new shows such as "Parks and Recreation" and "Happy Endings."
