Katy Perry confirms 3D concert movie

There had been rumors about a potential concert movie starring Katy Perry, and now the "Firework" singer has confirmed it. Perry took to Twitter on Wednesday to officially announce the film and to give it a title, Deadline reports. Although there's no definite release date yet, the 3D movie has a name. Perry announced the film will be titled "Katy Perry: Part of Me." The movie is set to be released by Paramount, and it seems like a smart move for both parties given the growing popularity of concert movies such as "Justin Beiber: Never Say Never." The flick is also nearing a deal with a directing team. Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, the duo known as Magical Elves, are in discussions with Paramount to helm the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pair has worked on many reality shows including "Project Runway" and "Top Chef." It may be sometimes until the Katy Perry concert movie hit theaters, but until then fans can watch get their fill of musical film thanks to titles such as "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie."
