'Hugo' a Best Picture nominee

Martin Scorsese is one of the most well-respected and prolific directors in Hollywood, and he struck gold once again in 2011 with the family movie "Hugo." The unique story earned an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, and families can check the movie out for themselves when it comes to DVD February 28. Hugo (Asa Butterfield) is an orphaned 12-year-old who is taken away by his uncle after the death of his father. Afterward, Hugo lives in the walls of a Paris train station, all the while trying to repair his father's broken robot. He eventually succeeds, and the automaton draws a film scene from the movie "Voyage to the Moon." Together with his newfound friend Isabelle (Chloe Grace Moretz), Hugo tries to uncover the mystery of where the drawing came from and who made it. The film is new territory for Scorsese, who is better known for directing gritty dramas than children's movies.
