The off-beat superhero movie "Kick-Ass" was one of the biggest surprises of 2010, and it looks like production is set to begin on a sequel. Mark Millar, the creator of the comic book in which the movie was based on, recently spoke to The Daily Mail, and said that shooting may begin some time this summer.

A second installment in the "Kick-Ass" franchise is not the only thing that Millar has planned in the coming months. Among the most anticipated is "American Jesus," which is somewhat of a modern-day adaptation of the story of Jesus Christ.

"We shoot Kick-Ass 2 and American Jesus this summer. Then ['Kick-Ass director] Matthew [Vaughn] and I have Secret Service, which is a neddy James Bond," Millar told the newspaper.

The original movie featured a critically-acclaimed performance from Chloë Grace Moretz, who will be involved in the upcoming sequel. It also starred Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aaron Johnson.

"Kick-Ass" is not the only comic book of Millar's to be turned into a film. He also saw "Wanted" take to the big screen starring Angelina Jolie.
