Adam Scott signs on to Ben Stiller comedy

The cast of the Ben Stiller-directed comedy "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" keeps picking up big names. The latest actor to get added to the list is "Parks and Recreation" star Adam Scott, Deadline reports. Scott joins an impressive crew that includes Stiller, Kristen Wiig and Shirley MacLaine. There's no word on exactly when the film will begin production, but it has been making headway in recent weeks after being held up considerably over the years. The movie is expected to star Stiller as the titular Walter Mitty, a man who develops elaborate fantasies to break free of the monotony of everyday life. The casting is another win for Scott, who has seen his star rise after he was given a full-time spot on the NBC comedy opposite Amy Poehler. He is appearing a number of other films in 2012 including "Friends with Kids" and "Bachelorette." To see Scott in some of his earliest roles, movie buffs may want to check him out in the short-lived comedy "Party Down" as well as in the Will Ferrell movie "Step Brothers."
