Print this article It's been more than 10 years since the cult classic "Wet Hot American Summer" hit theaters, but fans may not have to wait much longer for a sequel. The film's writer and star Michael Showalter recently revealed that the long-rumored film is definitely going to happen, Paste magazine reports.
Showalter was a guest on the Bravo show Watch What Happens Live when he was asked about whether or not the movie, which may be a prequel, is actually going to happen. He certainly gave fans the answer they were looking for.
"The whole gang. Everyone's back," he told the audience, according to the publication. "We're doing it."
There's no word on when the movie will begin production, but the cast will be quite an impressive one. The original film included the likes of Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper and Amy Poehler - all of whom have gone on to big things in the decade that followed.
Though it could be some time until the film hits theaters, fans of the original may want to watch similar movies including "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Zoolander."
