Joseph Gordon-Levitt to make directorial debut

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has had one of the best stretches in Hollywood over the last several years, and now the former child star is setting his sights on directing. The "Inception" actor is poised to get behind the camera for an as-of-yet unnamed comedy movie starring himself and Scarlett Johansson, Deadline reports. Details are scarce about the project, but the story was written by Gordon-Levitt, and he will star as womanizer committed to changing his selfish ways. He claims that he has always wanted to direct ever since coming back into movies after taking several years off to go to school. It also doesn't hurt that he's worked with some of the best directors in the business. "I spent a year working with Chris Nolan, Rian Johnson, Steven Spielberg, and I did my best to pay attention," he told the website. It certainly seems like a logical step for Gordon-Levitt, who is coming off one of his most applauded performances in the comedy-drama "50/50."
