Print this article First Steve Carell left and with talks of a spin-off, Rainn Wilson may be leaving "The Office" as well. Now comes word that one of the creative forces behind the comedy series Mindy Kaling could leave the show too, Deadline reports.
Kaling, who writes for and stars in the show, is attached to a medical comedy project that just got picked up by Fox. There's no word yet as to when the show will begin production but it may throw a wrench in the future plans for "The Office."
According to the website, the show was written by Kaling and stars her as an overworked doctor who has to navigate her career while contending with her coworkers - something certainly not foreign to the actress.
It remains to be seen whether or not the show will become a series, but until that time fans of Kaling can check out similar shows through TV on DVD including "Parks and Recreation" and "30 Rock."
