Print this article Psychological thrillers are often some of the most upsetting films there are. While straight horror or supernatural movies can be scary, psychological thrillers can leave viewers feeling uneasy upon leaving the theater. Such is the case with "Dream House," which comes to DVD January 31.
The film follows Will Atenton (Daniel Craig), a seemingly successful writer living at home with his family. Everything appears to be going normal until Will's daughters start seeing someone stalking their house. Eventually Will believes the man to be Peter Ward, who used to live in the home and was accused of murdering his family there.
As will starts to investigate who Peter Ward is, his own reality starts to crumble around him. The further he looks into the murders, the more he begins to question his own identity and that of his family.
"Dream House" is complete with a mind bending twist that will surely leave audiences gasping much like other psychological thrillers did including "Shutter Island" and the M. Night Shyamalan classic "The Sixth Sense."
