Paul Rudd to guest star on 'Parks and Recreation'

The hit NBC comedy series "Parks and Recreation" has landed several big names as guest stars, and its latest does not deviate from the trend. Paul Rudd is on board to play the political rival to Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope in a multiple-episode arc, Vulture reports. No higher-ups at NBC were able to confirm the casting but sources have said that Rudd has already shot his scenes and the episodes are likely to air in the near future, according to the publication. This marks one of Rudd's first returns to the small screen after playing a significant role in the final season of "Friends." It's not hard to understand why Rudd has been absent on television lately. The actor has been in a long string of successful movies in that last few years and is slated to appear in three in 2012 alone. Some of Rudd's most popular films include his hilarious turn in "I Love You, Man" and most recently, he gave a heartwarming performance in "Our Idiot Brother."
