'Community' not cancelled yet, NBC exec says

Despite critical acclaim and a cult following, the NBC comedy "Community" has failed to gain traction among viewers. The ratings were low enough that it was not put on NBC's spring schedule. However, fans should not worry just yet, the show has not been canceled, Paste magazine reports. The good news comes from the Television Critics Association's press tour, where NBC Universal's chairman Robert Greenblatt recently spoke. A number of reporters in the audience took to Twitter to share the (for now) good news. "Fourth season decision on #Community will be made closer to upfront in May," TV Guide tweeted. "It depends on what fails #TCA12." As for the suspended third season, there's no telling when the remaining 12 episodes will air, but sources say it may be  sometime in May, according to the publication. Anybody who is missing the new episodes of "Community" can stay satisfied with TV on DVD as well as through similar shows including "Parks and Recreation" and "Arrested Development," which is making its way back for a movie in the near future.
