Kristen Wiig not in for 'Bridesmaids' sequel

The all-female cast of "Bridesmaids" turned in a surprising hit this summer, but if there is going to be a sequel, one of its biggest stars will not be in it. Kristen Wiig has said she is not working on a follow up movie and producers may have trouble getting some of the other members on board, according to The Hollywood Reporter. There has been speculation regarding what the exact cause for the delay has been, but some close to the situation believe that Wiig and others in the cast were upset with the relatively low bonus they received given the films large box office haul. While Wiig wouldn't comment on that, she did she say that her and fellow screenwriter Annie Mumolo are not writing a script. "We aren't working on that," she told the publication. "Annie and I aren't planning a sequel. We are writing something else." It remains to be seen whether or not producer Judd Apatow will be on board for a sequel without the original cast. Until that day comes, fans of the comedy movie can check out some of Apatow's other work including "Knocked Up" and "The 40 Year Old Virgin."
