Tom Cruise finds success with latest 'Mission: Impossible' movie

Although the holiday season is often known as one of the best for Hollywood, such has not been the case this year. However, Tom Cruise's latest movie "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" has managed to do what other films haven't, and emerged with a solid performance Christmas weekend, the New York Daily News reports.  While the film performed well in the United States, what really set it apart from the rest was its popularity overseas, and this was largely thanks to Cruise's work ethic. Industry insiders say few stars go to the do as much as Cruise to court foreign viewers. "Tom Cruise goes to these markets - he'll go to South Korea, he'll go to Japan, he'll make a huge number of personal appearances," Edward Jay Epstein, author of "The Hollywood Economist," told the news source. "Without him 'Mission: Impossible' wouldn't exist as a franchise. It's really a one-man effort." Fans of Cruise who have yet to check out his latest offering may want to watch some of his best-known films including "Minority Report" and "War of the Worlds."
