Harrison Ford has signed on to join the project, which will start filming in February, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, based on the novel by Orson Scott Card, takes place in a future Earth where citizens are at war with an insect-like alien race. Ford will play the Commander of Training for the International Fleet who is in charge of an academy which trains the planet's soldiers.
The movie is set to star Asa Butterfield as the titular Ender. The young actor can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed "Hugo," and will be joined on screen by Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin, who is on board to play his sister Valentine. Fellow nominee Hailee Steinfeld is also attached to the project, the publication reports.
