Cameron Crowe talks possibility of 'Say Anything...' sequel

It was the movie that put both John Cusack and director Cameron Crowe on the map, and more than 20 years later "Say Anything..." may finally get a sequel. Crowe recently spoke to Vulture about the prospect of tackling the beloved romantic comedy. While he did not say anything definitive, Crowe floated the possibility of examining some other aspects of the story rather than Cusack's Lloyd Dobler and Ione Skye's Diane Court. Instead, it might focus more on other characters "There's a shadow of a previous story, but characters that you knew, sort of," he told the publication. "And you go off on this tributary to another story with them. That's how I would do a 'Say Anything' sequel." While he has expressed interest in doing it, Crowe knows that filming a sequel is a long way off since there is no script or actors attached to the project. Whether or not a sequel makes its way to the big screen, there are still plenty of other great movies helmed by the venerable director including "Almost Famous" and "Jerry Maguire."
