Print this article There were several musical numbers that popped up during the three "Austin Powers" movies, but it appears as though star Mike Myers is to add more - a lot more. Sources close to the former Saturday Night Live comedian say he is in talks to bring the comedy movie to Broadway, The New York Post reports.
The news comes after confirmation that Myers will also be working on a fourth film in the series which has not had a new installment since 2002's "Austin Powers in Goldmember." While Myers is not slated to star in the musical, he will likely be writing it.
"Mike is in talks to turn 'Austin Powers' into a musical stage show," the source told the newspaper. "Mike would be heavily involved in writing the show, but he will not star in it, even though he has quite a good singing voice."
The first film in the series "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" hit theaters in 1997 and has been one of Myers' most popular movies. However, fans of the comedian will certainly want to check out his classic "Wayne's World 2."
