Hailee Steinfeld in talks for Ender's Game movie

Print this article Hailee Steinfeld tackled a challenging role in last year's "True Grit" which earned the 14-year-old an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and now the precocious actor is in talks to take on another part that could land her a nomination. The actress is in discussions to play the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of Ender's Game, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Steinfeld would star opposite Asa Butterfield, who is attached to portray the titular Ender. Butterfield currently stars in Martin Scorecese's "Hugo," and Steinfeld is slated to appear in an upcoming version of "Romeo and Juliet," the publication reports.
Ender's Game was written in 1985 by Orson Scott Card and takes place in a dystopian future Earth where the citizens are embroiled in a conflict with an insect-like alien species. Both Butterfield and Steinfeld would be playing youths being trained to fight off the invasion.
The science fiction movie is slated for a release sometime in 2013 but until than, fans of the genre can check out some of the best in recent memory including "Watchmen" and "Avatar."
