Pixar turns 'Toy Story,' 'Tangled' into short films

When Pixar began releasing movies in the '90s, audiences were often treated to delightful shorts before each feature, and now the studio is reviving the practice with a twist. Moviegoers will see shorts based on "Toy Story " and "Tangled" before a pair of upcoming movies, Paste magazine reports. The first short, "Small Fry," will be shown before the upcoming movie "The Muppets." The story follows a smaller Buzz Lightyear that came with a Happy Meal-like product from a fast food chain and will feature the voice of "Glee" star Jane Lynch. The other short film, "Tangled Ever After," is going to be shown before the 3D release of "Beauty and the Beast" on January 13. According to the publication, the short is expected to focus on a pair of supporting characters from "Tangled." Pixar has been responsible for some of the most memorable family movies to hit the big screen over the last decade. Anybody looking to check out some of their best titles should watch "Cars 2," and last year's hit "Toy Story 3."
