Ryan Seacrest has been somewhat of a Renaissance man when it comes to television so it comes as no surprise he is going to try his hand at the movie business. Plus, he has a big name working with him on his first project. The "American Idol" host and Reese Witherspoon have teamed up produce an as-of-yet unnamed romantic comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Little is known about the project other than that the script will be written by Krista Vernoff, who is the scribe behind "Grey's Anatomy." Though it is his first foray into scripted big screen stories, he's no stranger to doing so on television. Earlier in the year he sold a small screen adapation of "The Nanny Diaries."

The move seems like a logical next step for Seacrest, who has risen through the ranks to become the managing editor of E! News as well as a major producer on many of the network's popular reality shows.

It may be a while until Seacrest and Witherspoon's romantic comedy comes to theaters but until then fans of the genre can check out some classics such as "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Never Been Kissed."
