Eddie Redmayne signs on to 'Les Miserables'

Print this article The upcoming adaptation of "Les Miserables" already has a pretty impressive cast and it just added another star to the list. Eddie Redmayne has been tapped to play the crucial role of Marius, Deadline reports.
The movie, an big screen take of the popular musical version of the original novel, is set to open on December 7, 2012, and is shaping up to be quite a spectacle. It will star musical theater veteran and Wolverine himself Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean and Anne Hathaway as Fantine. It will also feature Oscar winner Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert. The project also has a decorated director in Tom Hooper, who won an Academy Award for his work on "The King's Speech" this year.
According to the website, Redmayne's casting is just the latest good news for the up-and-coming actor. The Englishmen is also staring in the much-anticipated biopic "My Week With Marilyin," which stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe.
