Print this article Several weeks ago, director Sam Mendes announced that Oscar winner Javier Bardem would be playing the villain in the upcoming James Bond movie "Bond 23," and the project recently added another storied actor to its cast. Albert Finney has been brought in to star in a reasonably big role, the Daily Mail reports.
The announcement was made in a fairly unorthodox way. Mendes had gathered his star-studded cast together, including Badrem, Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes, for a table read before breaking the news.
"It was one of those fabulous 'This can't get any better!' moments," a source close to the production told the news source.
Finney brings a touch of class to the project as he is one of the most famous English actors. He has been nominated for five Academy Awards, most recently for Best Supporting Actor for "Erin Brockovich."
"Bond 23" won't hit theaters until next fall, but until then, fans of the franchise may want to watch some of the more recent films including "Casino Royale" and "The World is Not Enough."
