Zach Braff to guest star on 'Cougar Town'

The ABC comedy series "Cougar Town" has been one of several surprise hits over the last several years and now its creator Bill Lawrence is employing the help of some of the actors from "Scrubs," the project that put him on the map. TVLine reports both Zach Braff and Robert Maschio will be appearing in as-of-yet undisclosed roles. Braff, who played main character John "J.D." Dorian on "Scrubs," has been mum on the subject but Maschio, who portrayed the high-five fanatic surgeon The Todd on the popular NBC comedy series, went to Twitter to discuss the prospects. "Maybe I did shoot a cameo on Cougartown today as the Todd from Scrubs...would you be all right with that five?!" the actor tweeted. Braff and Maschio will also join former castmate Sarah Chalke, who is currently in the midst of a mutli-episode arc, the website reports. "Cougar Town" also stars Krista Miller, who not only is Lawrence's wife but was also a series regular on "Scrubs." Fans of either of the series will certainly want to check out similar shows including "Community" and "How I Met Your Mother."
