Print this article Rumors have been swirling about when officer John McClane would be headed back to the big screen but now all those questions have been answered. The fifth film in the "Die Hard" franchise is slated to hit the big screen on February 14, 2013, and will be called "A Good Day to Die Hard," Slashfilm.com reports.
In addition to the release date and title, Tom Rothman, the CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment, also provided some plot details to talkshow host Jim Rome. The story apparently opens with McClane (once again played by Bruce Willis) in Russia in an effort to get his son out of jail. While overseas, he stumbles across something much larger, according to the website.
A number of things are still up in the air, however. John Moore has been tapped to direct but it is unclear who will be playing McClane's son. Shooting is slated to begin on the project in January, so producers better decide soon.
Along with his starring roles in the other "Die Hard" films, Willis has made a name for himself in action-packed movies including "Sin City" and "The Fifth Element."
