Though it may seem unthinkable, "The Simpsons" may come to an end after 23 seasons this spring. A significant money dispute has sprung up between Fox and the show's voice actors, one which could mean the longest running sitcom in TV history is finished, The Daily Beast reports.

At the crux of the argument is the actors unwillingness to take a fairly significant 45 percent pay cut. Fox executive made the request Monday night, and the actors, including Dan Castellaneta (voice of Homer, et. al), Hank Azaria (Moe, Chief Wiggum, Groundskeeper Willie) and Nancy Cartwright (Bart), have said they will take a 30 percent cut while asking for a small portion of the syndication revenue. The studio has yet to respond.

"The show has made billions in profits over the years and will continue to do so as far as the eye can see down the road," a source close to the issue told the blog. "The actors are willing to take a pay cut of roughly a third, but that's not good enough for Fox."

Even if the show does get cancelled, fans can watch plenty of the seasons through TV on DVD and catch similar series including "Futurama" and "Family Guy."
