'Community' auctions off walk-on role for charity

Many television viewers often dream about getting the chance to appear on their favorite show, and for fans of "Community," the chance is very real. For the second straight year, the show is auctioning off a walk-on role in one of its episodes with all the proceeds from the highest bidder going to the Cal State Fullerton chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, Paste magazine reports. The auction is open to the public on eBay and is closed on September 22, the day that season three of "Community" debuts on NBC. In addition to getting an opportunity to appear on the show, the winners gets to enjoy the on-set catering, bring a friend and get autographs from their favorite cast members. Whoever wins may get to be in a scene alongside one of the many guest stars stopping by the show this year including "Party Down" actor Martin Starr as well as John Goodman and Michael K. Williams. Though the premiere of the show is a little under a week away, fans can check out similar series such as "The Office" and "Psych" to tide them over.
