Reese Witherspoon is resting at her home after being struck by a car while jogging. The "Legally Blonde" star was hit Wednesday morning while running through an unmarked crosswalk but sustained only minor injuries, the Access Hollywood reports.

The driver of the car was an 84-year-old woman, who was only traveling 20 miles-per-hour at the time of the crash. The collision was likely caused by a large tree obstructing the drivers view, investigators say.

In a statement to Access Hollywood, a representative for Witherspoon said that she  had been taken to the hospital but was released shortly after the incident.

The accident is unlikely to derail what has been a successful year for the 35-year-old actress. In addition to releasing the critically acclaimed adaptation of "Water For Elephants," Witherspoon also married talent agent Jim Toth in March.

To see Witherspoon at her best, movie buffs may want to watch her Academy Award-winning turn in "Walk the Line" as well as her star-making performance in the comedy movie "Cruel Intentions."
