The AFI Fest is one of the most anticipated movie festivals in the runup to Oscar seasons, and this year's looks to be no different. Opening night of the event, which kicks off on November 3, will feature the much-anticipated biopic "J. Edgar," Entertainment Weekly reports.

The movie, directed by Clint Eastwood, is already considered by some to be an Oscar frontrunner. The story centers around the plight of former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), and the debut at AFI Fest will come just over a week before its November 11 release.

In addition to DiCaprio, the movie includes a slew of other stars including Naomi Watts, Judi Dench and Armie Hammer, who rose to fame after playing the Winklevoss twins in "The Social Network."

If the film is anything like recent biopics, it will certainly compete for a number of Academy Awards. Anybody looking to check out some of these films should watch "Ali," which earned Will Smith an award for Best Actor, and this year's critical favorite "The King's Speech."
