At one time or another, almost everyone has wished they were a crime-fighting superhero, and the dark comedy movie "Super," examines what happens when that wish comes true. With an all-star cast, the new release DVD hits shelves August 9.

Short order cook Frank D'Arbo (Rainn Wilson) doesn't have much going for him, and when his wife Sarah (Liv Tyler) leaves him, he has an epiphany in which he believes God has chosen him to become a superhero.

Armed with a wrench and joined by a sidekick named Libby (Ellen Page), Frank assumes the identity of The Crimson Bolt. After bludgeoning criminals across town and becoming a media sensation , Frank and Libby decide to defeat the sleazy and drug-addled Jacques (Kevin Bacon), the man stole his wife.

Though not a conventional superhero movie, the film will certainly appeal to fans of the genre. Those who want to watch a more classic film may want to check out "Batman Begins" and "Iron Man."
